The SoundPoint IP 550 is a full-duplex IEEE 1329 Type 1-compliant speakerphone with Polycom's Acoustic Clarity Technology that delivers excellent sound quality and enables natural noise-free and echo-free conversations.

HD Voice Technology

Polycom’s revolutionary HD Voice technology ensures that calls have lifelike richness and clarity. It incorporates wideband audio for increased voice clarity. A full duplex speakerphone allows two way speech that is free from echoes and noise In calling scenarios, like IP to PSTN, Polycom HD Voice will not be available and will continue in narrowband instead.

Business Telephony Features

The SoundPoint IP 550 supports four lines and is presented from a backlit, high resolution, easy-to-read graphical display which delivers advanced features and capabilities, such as shared call/ bridged line appearance, busy lamp field (BLF), presence, text messaging, and buddy lists. The SoundPoint IP 550 phone also includes an integrated XHTML micro-browser that allows users to take advantage of productivity-enhancing Web-based applications.

Simple and Pain Free Installation and Provisioning

The SoundPoint IP 550 phones are designed to address the business requirements for simple and pain free installation, configuration, and upgrades. Powered using Power over Ethernet (IEEE 802.3af) saves on cabling expenses. The SoundPoint IP 550 phone supports remote, zero-touch provisioning and, when used in conjunction with the Hosted Direct Business Phone Service, all upgrades will be provided automatically from the Hosted Direct server to ensure reliable, uninterrupted performance.

Tested and Approved

The SoundPoint IP 550 phones have been tested for interoperability with the Hosted Direct switching platform. The phones also interoperate with Microsoft® Live Communications Server (LCS) 2005 for telephony and presence.
